Trying to understand more about SNOCAP. What if I have my label or CD baby has my digital distribution rights? can I still use the DistroNow/SNOCAP thingy to sell my music?

Serena, SNOCAP has agreements in place with most labels, CD Baby, IODA, The Orchard, and Warner Distribution. In other words – almost everyone. If you have assigned your digital distribution rights to a third party, chances are that they have a deal with SNOCAP. You need to contact your digital distribution company to get a copy of your SNOCAP code to paste into DistroNow.

Serena – you may be following this already – but the CD Baby/Snocap saga continues – see http://cdbaby.org/stories/07/02/13/0315715.html – if you read the most recent comments you will see that Derek makes it very clear you can opt out of their digital distribution rights for Snocap, if you prefer. But once they get it up and running you will not have to pay Snocap’s annual $30 charge if you set it up through CD Baby. Personally I am forced to be patient as Snocap does not yet offer their services to UK artists. I am hoping that once the CD Baby/Snocap deal goes through (latest estimate is in 2 weeks time but don’t hold your breath!) that I’ll be able to use the code on ReverbNation. Hi. I’m trying to sign up for the SNOCAP DistroNow service and on registration am asked for a billing address with one of the required fields being State. I am from the UK not the US. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance.

Snocap is currently only for US residents. You may however, use any digital retailer you’d like. Just paste the code they give you, or the web address in the area for your Snocap code in DistroNow and we will link users there instead.

in my opinion there are other mp3 retailers out there that are waaaay superiour to sno-cap. this is only my opinion though, i dont want to start anything bad or negative or slanderous, but PERSONALLY i feel like until sno-cap VASTLY improves their customer service relations, one could much better spend his or her time looking for another digital retailer than they could trying to get into snocap. again, this is my personal belief based purely on my experiences.
