As an artist, you need to spread your music to every place on the web where your fans might spend time. Facebook is one of those places. Here are some tips on how to reach fans that live at Facebook.

1. Create a Group for your band and invite all of your friends to join. Make sure the group description includes a link to your ReverbNation profile, as well as a TunePak link. Clicking this link will allow users who are only logged into Facebook the chance to listen to your music while browsing other people’s pages. You can also paste TunePak links onto your friend’s walls, and in comments when commenting on pictures.

2. You can “post items” on Facebook from your account. By “posting” a TunePak, all of your friends will see it on the News Feed. The same goes for “Notes,” you can post these to alert people of new songs (while of course showing them a TunePak link, or giving them a link to your RN page).

3. Facebook currently does not accept Flash, so FanCollectors, Show Schedules and Player Widgets do not work in its interface, yet.

Please feel free to add to this thread if you have any other great ideas for tapping into Facebook. Check back often for updates on the latest ways to reach your fans at Facebook.

How To Get A TunePak – To get a TunePak link of your music, visit your profile page and click the “Create TunePak” button on the “Songs” tab on your artist profile page. You may then rearrange the order of the songs if you would like. Select the “Get URL” option for the correct URL to copy and paste in any of these networks or anywhere else.

Mr. Admin and All you good people here at Revernation,

We are Albert and Tempie and we want to thank you for all of your tips and advice. We like many others here are working hard networking to be heard and discovered. We are appreciative of the opportunity that you have given us in being able to have such a powerful tool to work with.

As time goes on we plan to continue networking and discovered all we can. As we do we plan to come back and share all we can as we have received so very much from you. Having the availability of all the internet technology is music to our minds, hearts and ears.

We have already put many of your tips to use on both of our Facebook websites promoting and posting our Reverbnation Playlists and logos. Additionally we add to each others different walls on Facebook including our Reverbnation widget along with a slide show and photo we got codes from in photobucket. Our thoughts were to have the visual effects of our photos as our many tracks are being played to peak the interest. We also included both our myspace websites and welcomed comments.

As we both realize the market and that it is a numbers game, our thoughts are to keep networking and reaching as many others as we can. We both feel our chances of being discovered will be increased if others like what they hear and see.

Again, we thank you for all you tips and hope what we said will be of interest to others.

Additionally, we are promoting Reverbnation and our Playlist on Myspace, Soundclick, Tagworld, Freewebs, Hear and Play, Etc… and all our social network communities and groups.

Sincerely,

Albert and Tempie THE WINNING TEAM

One of the stated features for joining ReverbNation as stated on the homepage when not logged in is”Automatic inclusion in Facebook”

Please explain.

Once I created a MyReverb Profile, I expected to be able to search the band name in FaceBook and see a profile appear.

Thanks Jerry H

There’s good information on this forum about using Facebook to promote one’s music. I’ve found that it’s really about connecting with people and building your online presence when you connect with people. Even with all of the marketing tools at your disposal that is provided through Reverbnation, Myspace, MYFVE, Facebook, etc. word of mouth through your fans is the best form of promotions you can’t pay for.

Hi

All you need to do to have your RN information on your personal or musician page at Facebook is to add the MyBand application that we have there.
