How To Promote Your Music On MySpace
|
|
As an artist, you need to spread your music to every place on the web where your fans might spend time. MySpace is one of those places. Here are some tips on how to reach fans that live at MySpace. 1. As always, you can paste TunePak links anywhere in MySpace and those who click it will receive a stand-alone player preloaded with your songs and ready for listening. 2. All of your widgets (FanCollector, Show Schedule, Player, and even Banners) will work when editing your profile in almost any section. The most popular section to paste widgets in is the “Band Details – Bio” section. Make sure to include as many of these as you would like (if not all of them) to help spread the word about your band and drive traffic to your ReverbNation page. 3. Currently, you may only paste Banner links in Comments on other people’s pages. Find your default banner link under your “Widgets” tab on ReverbNation. 4. Unfortunately, no widgets work in the Blog portion of MySpace. The blog section does not support Flash. 5. All of your widgets also work in Bulletins. One good idea is to post bulletins of your Player Widget whenever new songs are uploaded. You can also post a bulletin with your FanCollector to help collect fan’s email addresses! Please feel free to add to this thread if you have any other great ideas for tapping into MySpace. Check back often for updates on the latest ways to reach your fans at MySpace. How To Get A TunePak – To get a TunePak link of your music, visit your profile page and click the “Create TunePak” button on the “Songs” tab on your artist profile page. You may then rearrange the order of the songs if you would like. Select the “Get URL” option for the correct URL to copy and paste in any of these networks or anywhere else. How To Get A Widget – To get either of the Show Schedule widgets (Regular or Tour Map), either of the Player widgets (Regular or Mini), or the banner for your ReverbNation page, visit the “Widgets” tab on your profile page. Select the widget you would like by clicking it. You will be given a chance to customize the color of the widget. Once you have completed that, copy the HTML code listed. This is what you need to paste in the allowed areas of any Social Network or website. |

Is there any way when a person shares my player on their page (MySpace for example) that the player will start automatically??? That is one of the options that should be included for people who want to embed players on their pages. Thanks! Catie |

Catie Hi! When you first copy the code from our site of the player widget, there is an option for AutoPlay. The default is to keep this off, you just must click the ON box when you copy the code for the widget and you can make it autoplay. Thanks Admin |

Whats up guys!!! Inbryo is “The most devastating Hardcore Metal of the region!!!” A band from Dallas, Texas with an original style that sets them apart from the Norm. A whole new breed of metal. All the members are from different backgrounds and musical influences which make’s for a very original and solid sound. This combination along with a great on-stage performance creates a show that is hard to miss. The band have been working Diligently on their 3 years of unity, challenged by the Departure of one of their members and other factors the band manages to still stay intact. This!! Gentleman! Proves how close the bond between members is, and that it does not matter what the situation will be, there is nothing that can stand on their way to success. The band is making sure they put a stamp on the US and soon the world; we have no doubt about it. As example here is the statement from one of their closest fan: “They will become one of the biggest hardcore metal bands out of Texas” That’s right, this is the way their fans think, there are many that fully believe in this band and had put their impute on to their life’s and their careers, and Inbryo is very grateful for it. At the beginning of 2006, Inbryo first released their Demo CD, “New Beginning” at the Dallas Music Festival at “TOMCATS”. There were a significant amount of people that attended the show, we estimated around 200. The CD which had a very good reception in Dallas, their home town, presented their sound at the fullest. Produced by Scott Rubealceada, the Cd was a instant success, The band sold 278 copies of the album between 2006/2007 and about 200 more were pass on to the hands of very devote fans and some other media facilities. Soon after the band got right back at the studio this time with Immortality Studios to star the recording of their next album “Frustration”, produce by Ryan Ragus and supervise by His legendary father. The 6 song CD Frustration was released July 14th 2007 at the “SMIRNOFF MUSIC CENTRE”, how can they forget this day? Impossible this was the day when they play at the Warped Tour on the Ernie Ball Stage in front of 700 crazy fans, “This was AMAZING!!!!” stated Erick (Drums), the Cd has been a total success. Now the band is looking to the horizon and take the next step of their careers, always keeping in mind those crazy fans that make this possible but with a very humble mentality that keep their head on their shoulders and focus on their gold which is soon to come; sharing their music with the world and touch everyone’s life with their talent. |

Mr. Admin and All you good people here at Revernation, We are Albert and Tempie and we want to thank you for all of your tips and advice. We like many others here are working hard networking to be heard and discovered. We are appreciative of the opportunity that you have given us in being able to have such a powerful tool to work with. As time goes on we plan to continue networking and discovered all we can. As we do we plan to come back and share all we can as we have received so very much from you. Having the availability of all the internet technology is music to our minds, hearts and ears. We have already put many of your tips to use on both of our myspace websites promoting and posting our Reverbnation Playlists and logos. Additionally we just posted a bulletin including our widget along with a slide show and photo we got codes from in photobucket. Our thoughts were to have the visual effects of our photos as our many tracks are being played to peak the interest. We also included both our myspace websites and welcomed comments. As we both realize the market and that it is a numbers game, our thoughts are to keep networking and reaching as many others as we can. We both feel our chances of being discovered will be increased if others like what they hear and see. Again, we thank you for all you tips and hope what we said will be of interest to others. Additionally, we are promoting Reverbnation and our Playlist on Facebook, Soundclick, Tagworld, Freewebs, Hear and Play, Etc… and all our social network communities and groups. Sincerely, Albert and Tempie THE WINNING TEAM |

Kiko asked if Snocap is a scam or if they really paid recording artist when their music was downloaded? I attend a number of music conferences as a featured speaker throughout the year and have the opportunity to talk with a number of music business professionals, recording artist and the like. To date I’ve never personally heard of anyone that has been paid by Snopcap. Someone told me that the company was folding (going out of business), but I haven’t been able to confirm this. In any event Kiko asked if there were any other sources where a recording artists or garage band could sell their music over the Internet. One long lasting company includes cdbaby.com, soundclick.com and about 80 other digital distributors may be found in the Los Angeles Music Industry Connection Book. It may be downloaded at gomusicconnection.com.
