Ty, if you check out your Band Equity tab inside of Stats, you will see that you’ve hit a cap on your number of Widget Hits. This is likely the reason your score is dropping. After hitting the cap, the widget hits no longer register as they relate to your BES. Click the Increase Cap button to learn ways to increase this maximum.

You can add tags in two ways. First you can add a tag when you import a list of contacts. There will be a small drop down menu below the import box and you can choose then which tag to add to the imports. If you wish to add tags to already imported contacts, you need to first select the contacts you wish to take (by checking the box next to their information) on the Manage Contacts tab. Then from the drop down menu (located just about the contact list) you can select which tag you wish to apply.

Also from that same drop down menu, you can remove selected contacts.

I do not know of a way to hide songs from your playlist on your page, yet still have them available for use in your widgets. I am sorry I can’t be of more help. It is something we will look at for future updates.

Go to the Stats section in Admin/Tools. The last tab is Shows. Go to that and click Edit next to the show for which you wish to add information.

There are many things that go into determining your Band Equity Score. One of those things if fans, but that is just one of many components. I checked out your stats and it appears you are the number one rated listener for your music. Having many diverse listeners will help increase your score.

Unfortunately we can’t give a complete breakdown of how the BES is calculated. Just keep working and getting more people into your music and I believe you’ll see the score start to climb. Thanks for using the site.

Hello Erkling,

Sorry you are having a problem with your cap. This basically means that you are getting a bunch of hits on your widgets, but the hits are coming from the same group of people. To increase the cap you need to get hits and plays from as many unique people as possible. To do that you’ll have to place widgets in new places so that new people see them. Myspace is a great place for this. If your fans place widgets on their page, then their friends will see your widgets and will count as new unique users. Then hopefully they will like your music and become a fan as well. If so that helps even more with your stats.

Hopefully that makes sense. Basically we put a cap on certain things so that a band will continue to promote their music and remain active.

There are many factors that go into determining your ranking on the page. I couldn’t possibly explain them all right here.

I can say that it is possible for bands to hit a cap on certain stats (like listeners and plays). To see if you’ve hit a cap, go to your Admin/Tools section and scroll down. You will see four categories and it should be pretty clear whether or not you’ve hit a cap.

Unfortunately there isn’t a way to integrate these two lists of fans. People have to opt in to your Fan Reach program in order to receive mail (otherwise it is spam). If we merged the lists, Facebook fans might be receiving email they do not want. You can message your Facebook fans (through FB) and encourage them to join your mailing list.

Hello Darren,

You should be able to access the new Stats page by going into Admin/Tools and clicking Stats. You said it appears you’ve hit a max on your listeners. While this isn’t a penalty, it can be a problem for moving up the charts. We set a max on listeners, plays, etc. to encourage artists to stay active with promoting their music. Basically it wouldn’t be fair if 1 listener playing a song 3,400 times was weighed equally to 3,400 people playing the song once each. Therefore we set a cap on these values so that the artist continues to bring in new/unique listeners and fans.

I hope that helps explain the situation a little better.

1. login to your profile. 2. Click the ”+” button beside any song you want to include on the music player widget for that album. This will put the song on a playlist called BOOKMARKED on your profile page under the PLAYLIST tab. 3. Once you have all the songs you want included in the widget on that bookmarked playlist, click the PLAYLIST tab on your profile and then the orange NEW button to create a new playlist. Name it whatever you want the widget name to be at the top of the widget (the album name) 4. Highlight the BOOKMARKED playlist and select all the songs you want to include and click the orange COPY button, and choose the new playlist you’ve created for your album 5. Highlight the new playlist you created, it should have all the songs you want to include on it. Then click the EMBED button to choose between several different size player widgets.

Hopefully that helps explain it. It is a bit complicated.

In the next few months we will be rolling out many updates to Fan Reach that will allow for much greater control. However I do not believe we will make it possible to delete email addresses from the Unavailable tab. They must remain there to make sure the same emails don’t get sent through the system a 2nd time.
