Topic: FanReach (including Fan Collector widget)

I noticed that recently fan reach was modified so that we can edit our fans age name location…ect. I also think we should be able to clean house in the “UNAVAILABLE” section as far as deleting Invalid emails due to typos and misinformation. People enter weird emails into the fan collector widget and we are just stuck with them in our unavailable section I think that we should have control over every aspect of fan reach just the same as a normal email account. I think that if we want to delete all unavailable emails we should have that option.

And I also think that we should have an option to personalize the confirmation emails so that our recipients don’t mistakingly mark them as spam.

Just a little more control is for the artist is all I am asking

BASICALLY MAKE FAN REACH THE SAME AS ANY OTHER EMAIL ACCOUNT

THANK YOU

Thank you so much, it’s all working now and I am about to send out mails. I will begin further customization and use of my profile very shortly now that I can use the Fanreach feature.

Thanks :)

Gamesproducerjan,

Thank you for your patience. You’re public e-mail was listed as @gmail,com instead of @gmail.com, which I changed by selecting the EDIT PROFILE button underneath your profile picture. This should correct the problem that you are having with FanReach. If you are still having trouble, please send an e-mail to support@reverbnation.com. Thank you again for your patience.

Hope that helps,

Hi Classicomp,

Sorry you are having trouble. More than likely, the other fans your are seeing are fans from other social networking sites, like Facebook. If Facebook friends Fan your band through MyBand, but don’t create a RN profile, they will become part of your Fan count but won’t be on the main list. To view them, click the VIEW FB FANS link above your list of RN fans.

Hope that helps,

I am still unable to send out messages and my error/bug has not yet been fixed. Can one of the admins please help me out here, one of my enlisted artists is due to release an album very soon and I would love to be able to send out messages by that point.

The fan counter shows more fans than the fan list does. The fan list only shows members who are my fans. The fanreach counter shows fans but they are not listed. Is that because they did not fill in the fanreach forms? Sorry for the dumb question, but I’m just getting started.

I did try to edit my contact email on the management profile by selecting preferences and saving the email again, however originally I inserted the correct email but when I activated the Openreach I may have inserted a invalid email but once the registration was completed it seems I am unable to access any options to change my email address.

I hope that helps to clarify a bit.

I hate to double post but I’m still not able to create/send out emails via Openreach can anyone please help?

Ok, the screenshot helps. Basically, if I understand your problem, you entered an invalid email address for YOUR address, right? Have you tried going into your account and changing/correcting all the email addresses on your Artist Information page? I’m not completely sure if that changes the FanReach email or not. But it’s worth a try.

I’ll see if I can recreate the problem on my account here in a bit when I have some more time.

I am experiencing a error with FanReach/OpenReach when creating an email my email address uses a , instead of a . symbol between the @gmail.com extension thus preventing me from sending out an email.

The exact prompt which is displayed is as follows:

“There is 1 problem with this form:

  • • Reply to is invalid format”

the email address is displayed as: “From: 1337 Kitsune GFX Studios “

I cannot access any options to change my email within FanReach/OpenReach to correct the mistake. I have attached a screen shot, can anyone here please help me.

Hi Mark,

When someone becomes a fan of your band, they have the option of whether or not they would like to join the mailing list. Those that opt-in to join the mailing list are included in FanReach. However, if you have added someone to your contact list and they are not included in your contacts list, you can probably find them in the Unavailable tab in FanReach. This means that they either haven’t confirmed to be on your list (they have 72 hours before they are automatically added), have requested not to be subscribed, or the email address entered is invalid. Hope that helps!

OK – so if someone signs up as a fan, and creates a Profile on RN – why aren’t they in my fanreach?

Thanks!

OK – it seems to’ve delivered bot emails. I’ll learn next time to leave it a while before getting stats back from the emailing.

I just sent an email to my 53 fans in my contact list – it looks like they weren’t delivered – “0/0 delivered” I tired resending and with the same results – any ideas?

These could be a part of a premium service at a later date for FanReach.

A couple of suggestions for FanReach:

First, I don’t like having the list of band members at the top of every message. It’s important that people know it’s from the band, but the personnel listing… you know, I want to get them right to the meat of the message. Plus there’s what Patrick said about solo artists: it’s redundant to say “Members: Patrick Dunn” when the name of the band is Patrick Dunn. It’d be much better to have an optional short blurb or tagline here.

Second, it would be really nice if FanReach remembered how I set up my messages. Ideally I’d like to store several sets of options (one for fans, one for street team, etc.) but for now it’d be enough if it just remembered from one visit to the next: no exclusive content, yes show schedule, and what color I picked for the header, so I don’t have to store a hex string somewhere and copy it over each time I want to mail the fans.

Thanks —Erik

PROBLEM WITH FANREACHNEED HELP!

Hello all! I’m having a serious problem with FanReach and wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the remedy is.

I recently imported all of my email contacts into FanReach by state. I have a separate list for CT, MA, NY, etc. I also have a list called the SA List which is basically a list of email addresses that I’ve collected through the years and I don’t know what their geography is.

Here’s the problem: I had about 770 contacts on the SA List, about 90 or so on the CT list, etc, etc. FanReach somehow got zapped and took SA List, CT list (and I fear more) addresses and put them on the Delaware list.

The problem seems to be bigger than that, as I am not sure if addresses were taken from another list and tossed somewhere else.

Now, I don’t want to re-import all these addresses, because I don’t want my fans getting emailed AGAIN asking them to opt-in during the quarantine period. That would make me look silly.

So, anyone know anything about this? This is really serious stuff as I had to email the Delaware list to reach fans from the SA & CT lists. This is something don’t want to do, since CT shows are irrelevant to DE fans. Capisce?

Thank you for the help!

Hi PatrickDunn

I’ll forward along your suggestion, but I think we have to have it all one way for the Facebook stuff (not really our choice).

Your emails go out from whatever your band name is. You can click Admin/Tools and Edit Artist Information to change that.

Topic: FanReach (including Fan Collector widget)

I am just getting used to the whole site, and it really is great. One question with FanReach. I am a solo artist and am sending out emails about my music. Is there any way to change the headings in FanReach emails about “Members” and “Click here to put ‘our’ songs on Facebook.” Basically, I am trying to change the format of emails I am sending out to not look like they are from a group. I don’t need it to say “Patrick Dunn” and then right under it “Members:Patrick Dunn”

Also, is there a way to change the name that the emails go out under?

Thanks

Hi Mr. Admin,

I have a question about FanCollector. Why is it that I can get an email that says I have 8 new FanCollector fans, but when I log in to my Reverb account, I only see 2?

To be clear, I am talking about in the Unavailable tab. I know that all email addresses from FanCollector have to verified, but what is happening to the other addresses? If they’re not under any of the tabs then where are they? This has happened more than once.

You can try emailing them from your own mail client to see if you get a response. Sadly, some could just want the free sticker and be giving out an invalid email.

heres an idea i had that i thought i would share. instead of giving people this link http://www.reverbnation.com/labradordali?add_email=true to join our mailing list, i have created a subdomain for our website at http://join.labradordali.com that is redirected to the fan reach url… which i can use in emails or what not as a link to prompt people to join the mailing list. much easier to remember i think…
